Margret Ann Comer

Margret Ann Comer, 85, died Wednesday morning on May 3, 2023 at her Raleigh, North Carolina residence. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 19, 2023 at 2:00 pm in the Brown-Wynne Funeral Home at 300 St. Mary’s Street, Raleigh, NC 27605. There will be an open casket viewing May 19th at Brown-Wynne from 10-noon. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Margret Ann’s cherished charity, The SPCA of Wake County. Margret Ann was born on April 2, 1938 in Lynchburg, Virginia, the daughter of Frank Willis Comer Jr. and Jeannette Reeves Comer. The Comer family moved to Macon, GA, where Margret Ann attended A.L. Miller High School. She graduated in 1956 and then received her Economics Degree from Randolph-Macon Women’s College in 1960, where she was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. She relocated to Raleigh, NC in the 1960s, and remained very active with Alpha Delta Pi in the Raleigh-Durham area.

Ms. Comer was a devoted mother who worked as a schoolteacher and then later established her own business management company that services various professional firms in the Raleigh-Durham area. Ms. Comer was also a distinguished philanthropist, supporting the March of Dimes, Salvation Army, SPCA, and many other charities.

Ms. Comer is survived by her son, David, and brothers, Jerry Legare Comer and Frank Willis Comer III.
