Mary Hinson Lloyd

Mary E. Hinson Casey Lloyd, 89, of Raleigh, and formerly of Kinston, NC, passed away peacefully with her family present on February 26, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents, Preston and Mary Ruby Hinson and her grandson, James Andrew Betts, Jr.

Mary served as Assistant Clerk of Courts in Lenoir County for more than 15 years. She began her career at Stallings Field in the legal office and then the Agriculture Extension Service Office. She retired from the Lenoir County Department of Social Services. Upon retirement Mary had over 30 years with the state government. She was a devoted daughter, mother and grandmother. Mary was a long time member of Faith Lutheran Church in Kinston, NC.

Survivors include her daughters, Rhonda Casey O’Dell and her husband, Bob; Beth Casey Betts and her husband, Andy; grandchildren, Mary Casey Dixon (Mike), Maggie Michaels (Jeff), Mallory Carte (Daniel), Brad Betts (Lauren) and Tyler Betts (Kendall); and great grandchildren, Blythe, Julia, Bo, Mabel and Charlotte.

The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers at Brighton Gardens Reminiscence, as well as Transitions LifeCare for their loving care, affectionately known as “Momma”.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 2, 2018 at 3:00 pm in Davidson Chapel at White Memorial Presbyterian Church, 1704 Oberlin Road in Raleigh. The family will receive friends in the Jane Bell Gathering Space after the service
