

Millie Woodlief Mason, 87, passed away on Tuesday morning, June 8, 2010 at Rex Hospital. Born on May 8, 1923 in Franklin County, NC; she was the daughter of the late George Herman Woodlief and Lessie Johnson Woodlief.
Millie was a resident of Historic Oakwood in Raleigh for over 60 years and a faithful member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. She loved everyone, especially the “beasts” and the children.
Millie was a secretary for IBM, an Executive Secretary at Nationwide Insurance Company, and before retiring was an administrative assistant with the State of North Carolina working with the Governor’s Crime Prevention Commission.
She is survived by her daughter: Nancy Abraham and husband Dr. P. M. Abraham, of Matthews, NC; grandson: Jason Abraham, of Atlanta, GA; niece: Donna Craig, of Raleigh; great-niece: Whitney Craig, of Oakland, CA; and great-nephew: Stacey Craig, of Raleigh.
Millie was preceded in death by her parents, both spouses: Herbert Buffaloe and Red Mason; and by her two sisters: Joyce and Inez.
Family will receive friends on Thursday afternoon, June 10, 2010 from 2-3 PM at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home (300 St. Mary’s Street). A memorial service will be held in the Wynne Center at 3 PM, with interment to follow at Montlawn Memorial Park.
