Born in Thiruvallur near Chennai, India, and known for his generous and caring nature, Parandaman was a deeply devoted father, a passionate cook, and a unique, one-of-a-kind soul who touched everyone he met with his selflessness.
He was a great visionary, the first engineer from his big family with a background in farming, and without any help, he moved to the US purely through his effort and talent. After establishing his career and a name for himself, his extensive search for the perfect soulmate ended with Kalyani Koganti, whom he deeply appreciated for the rich cultural qualities she brought from her background in another state.
He was the proud father of four children, all of whom he adored beyond measure. His dear eldest daughter, Nandhini, whom he lovingly called “Amulu,” and his beloved triplets—Hemakantha ("Hema"), Hemasri ("Chinnie"), and Hemachandra ("Chandu")—brought him boundless joy and a unique charm with each of them. Each child carries a piece of his big heart and unmistakable energy.
His culinary skills were his favorite way to showcase his caring nature. His friends and family would gather eagerly for his dosas, famous chicken biryani, crab curry, sodas, and spontaneous kitchen experiments, each dish infused with so much love and passion. Anything he dedicated himself to, regardless of how impossible it appeared, he pursued with unwavering effort and persistence, and he was a man of many dreams, visions, and projects, for all of which he worked tirelessly.
Parandaman had a unique way of making others feel seen through the countless acts of kindness that always made a difference; he is a selfless and unforgettable person. To know him was to know someone truly special and amazing.
He will be remembered as a loving father and husband, a friend to many, and a man who helped and always made sure everyone left his house with a “belly full.” Family, friends, and all who had the honor of knowing Parandaman are invited to join in honoring his memory on Tuesday.
A funeral service in the Hindu tradition for Parandaman will be held Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 300 Saint Mary's St., Raleigh, NC 27605.
