Pat, known as ‘Tootsie’ by her childhood friends, was born on April Fools Day in 1935 in Morehead City, NC, to the late Anne Marie Williams and Herman Keith Willis. She was raised in Morehead City, graduating from Morehead City High School in 1953. Upon graduation, she attended Women’s College (now UNC-Greensboro), where she received her bachelor’s degree. She married Conrad Alvin “Dave” Davis, who preceded her in death in 2009 after 49 years of marriage.
Pat was employed for many years as a Secretary with DuPont Industries, US F & G Insurance Company, the Golden Corral Corporation, eventually retiring from Cotton Incorporated. She was a longtime active member of First Baptist Church in Raleigh. She enjoyed travelling with her late husband and close friends.
Pat is survived by her daughter, Sheryl “Sherry” Davis, of Melbourne Beach, Florida; cousins, Ray Vance Hopper, of Morehead City, NC, Carol Akerley Minton, of Raleigh, NC. Ann Darden Webb Freshwater of Morehead City, NC, and Margaret Lloyd of Jacksonville, FL.
In addition to her husband and parents, Pat was preceded in death by her son, Steve Davis.
A Celebration of Pat’s Life will be held on Monday, July 21, 2025 at 11:00am at the graveside in Raleigh Memorial Park, 7501 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh, Rev. Chris Chapman officiating.
