Phyllis Adams Pattee

Phyllis Adams Pattee, 81, died Friday, May 29, 2015 in Raleigh, Wake, NC. She was born on December 24, 1933 in Central, Graham, AZ to Anton Lund and Flora Taylor Adams. Phyllis was the oldest of 13 children with 9 brothers and 3 sisters.

It was almost 59 years ago that Phyllis began her life with Harold E. Pattee by going with him to the LDS Temple in Mesa, AZ where they were sealed for time and all eternity as husband and wife. Since then, she has built a legacy.

Professionally, she worked as a Department Manager for JC Penney where she eventually retired. Personally, she served in many positions as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She volunteered for many years with the Girl Scouts of America as well as the Boy Scouts of America. She was honored for her service with the BSA and received the Silver Beaver Award.

Of all, that she was a part of, her greatest accomplishment was being a wife and mother. She was kind and loving. She was there for anyone who needed help or a shoulder to cry on. Her life was devoted to service for her family and friends.

Phyllis is survived by her husband, Harold; children, Floyd L. Pattee, Phyllis Kofford (Russ), Linda Bernard (Doug), Deborah Pattee, Sherri Pattee, Sheila Pattee, and Yvonne Lee (Garland); 12 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her father; mother; brother, Larry Adams; and sister, Cindy Gardner.

In North Carolina, funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 5060 Six Forks Rd., Raleigh, with visitation at 11:30am and services at 1:00pm.

In Arizona, a visitation will be held on Friday, June 5, 2015 from 6:00pm – 9:00pm at Lakeshore Mortuary, 1815 South Dodson Rd., Mesa with a graveside service to be held on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at 11:00am at Mesa City Cemetery, 1212 N. Center St. Mesa.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Transitions LifeCare (founded as Hospice of Wake County), 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.
