

Priscilla Anne Larson Phillips of Raleigh passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 10, 2014. Priscilla was born in Lowell, Massachusetts, the daughter of Toure and Sarah Larson of Lowell, Massachusetts (both deceased). She had one sister, Carlene Roome (deceased).
She is survived by her daughter, Margot Smith Hinton and her husband, Chester Hinton of Raleigh; son Garrick Larson Smith and his wife, Suzanne Smith of Burlington, NC. She is also survived by five beautiful granddaughters; Smith and Ann Taylor Hinton of Raleigh, Rebecca and Sarah Smith and Lauren Jones of Burlington. She also leaves behind the loving friendship and care of Bonnie Buff, Joan Lambert and Mandy Sandri.
Priscilla is a graduate of Emerson College where she studied Theatre and English Literature. She moved to Raleigh in 1964 where she started her family. She was one of Raleigh’s Parks and Recreation Department’s first yoga instructors and taught classes for nearly a decade starting in 1978. Her other interests included reading, travel and spending time with her grandchildren.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be conducted at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. by The Reverend Greg Jones. The family will receive friends following the service in the parish hall of the church.
