Ranganathan is the eldest child of the late Ramachandra Chettiar and Lakshmi Bai.
Ranganathan is survived by his wife, Ragupathi Devi; two sons, Badrinarayanaguptha(Badri) and wife Gayathri, Nagarajagupta (Raj) and wife Nithya; four grandchildren, Viji, Johit, Rhythanyaa, Santhosh; three brothers, the late Jagannathan, the late Raghunathan, and Padmanabhan; and three sisters, Late Lalitha, Sujatha, Vijayalakshmi
He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.
