Roberta Marita Warner, 94 of Raleigh, died Friday, September 18, 2015 at Raleigh Rehabilitation Center in Raleigh. She was born on March 15, 1921 in Raleigh, daughter of the late Robert Hamer Warner and Rosa Phillips. She was also preceded in death by her two brothers, Robert and Harold: two sisters, Emily Rose Merritt and Eula Beth Freeman; and her nephew, Richard Allen Freeman, Jr.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, September, 22 at 2:00 PM in the Historic Oakwood Cemetery in Raleigh.
Rita is survived by her two nieces, Elizabeth Gephart Wyant and her husband Chick of Raleigh, and Emily Carson Freeman of Emerald Isle, NC; eleven great nieces and nephews; and eighteen great-great nieces and nephews.
Rita will be remembered by her strong will, engaging personality and intellect. Among many things, she loved classical music, animals, Jeopardy and most of all, scripture.
Her family will receive friends Monday, September 21 from 6:00-8:00 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, St. Mary’s St.
