

Roger Anthony Egan, 79, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2012, at Stewart Healthcare in Raleigh NC. He was born on July 4, 1932 in Brooklyn, New York, son of the late Joseph F. Egan II and Mary Caldwell Egan.
Roger worked for a steamship line when he graduated from high school. Roger served in the US Coast Guard, in Washington D.C. from 1953 to 1956. While he was in Washington D.C., Roger earned a B.S. in Foreign Service from Georgetown University. He later worked for NBC, RCA Records, and BMG Music in Labor Relations. He met his wife, Ann Egan, in NYC. They were married in St. Patrick’s Cathedral, where Ann was a volunteer.
Roger and Ann moved to Raleigh , NC to be closer to their grandchildren. Roger and Ann were a member of St. Luke’s the Evangelist Catholic Church. Roger was a member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Luke’s.
He is lovingly remembered by his dear wife of 50 years, Ann Egan; loving son, Roger Anthony Egan Jr. and wife Christine, of Charlotte, NC; beloved grandchildren, Ryan, Colin, Kellie, Grace and Patrick; and his sister, Marilyn Fenn and husband Donald, of Boston, MA.
He was predeceased by his parents, brother, Joseph Egan and sister, Eleanor Warren.
The funeral mass will be held at 10:30 am on Friday March 16, at St. Luke’s the Evangelist Catholic Church, 12333 Bayleaf Church Rd., Raleigh, NC. The family will receive friends and family prior to the service from 9:30 – 10:30 at the church.
Memorial donations can be made to the Knight’s of Columbus at St. Luke’s in memory of Roger.
