Shamika ‘Mika’ Lenae Stuart (33) passed away on Friday, May 1, 2020 surrounded by her loving family at her Clayton residence in North Carolina.
She was born on June 16, 1986 in Los Angeles, California, where she resided before moving to North Carolina during the summer of 2015.
Mika was a very kind, compassionate, and gentle soul that touched the lives of many. She had a loving and generous heart, and was always willing to give to others. Mika had a powerful presence and great sense of humor, and she often confronted hardships with laughter and levity. Most importantly, she had a genuine allure and one of the most beautiful smiles that could light up an entire room.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, frequenting the beach, and singing lullabies; she had a voice of an angel. She was always fascinated by the beauty of butterflies, which notably signifies resurrection, hope, and new beginnings. Unknowingly to her, butterflies are seen as an object of admiration and inspiration, which is exactly what she was to us. Mika’s life story, in this very instance, symbolized rebirth and a transformation of change. Symbolically, when she entered eternal life, she officially transformed into a beautiful butterfly and received her wings.
She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her daughters Jaelyn (11) and Jayla King (10); sons Jacob (8), Joseph (6), and Josiah (4) King; spouse Victor King; parents Wayne and Princess Burden; brothers John Burden and Perry Stuart; sisters Latoya Vargas, Brianna Burden, and mother-to-be Tika Simpson and soon to be born niece Kira Simpson.
A private memorial service will be performed at Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27612 on Thursday, May 7, 2020 at 1 pm. There will be a live-stream of the memorial service for family and friends who wish to attend remotely (https://www.facebook.com/MitchellFuneralRaleigh).
