Shannen Lee Congleton

Shannen Lee Congleton, age 51, of Raleigh, North Carolina passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2025. Shannen was born on July 20, 1973, in New Bern, NC to Marshall Andrew Congleton III and Kate McKimmon Congleton, who survive her.

Shannen lived in Raleigh for most of her life, she graduated from Cary High School in the early 1990's. She lived a remarkable and full life, overcoming many of her physical challenges. She loved music and her knowledge of music was extensive.

Shannen was loved by all those that knew her and were touched by her. She will be greatly missed, especially her family.

She was preceded in death by her, grandparents, Arthur McKimmon and Elizabeth Lewis Buxton McKimmon and Marshall Andrew Congleton II and Julia Congleton; her beloved great-grandmother, Willa Norris "Tan" McKimmon; and her dear cousin, Duncan A. McMillan.

In addition to her parents, Shannen is survived by her brother, Steve C. Congleton; her uncle, Jim McKimmon; and many extended family members.

A memorial service will be held at Christ Episcopal Church, 120 East Edenton St. Raleigh, NC on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Interment at Oakwood Cemetery will be private.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Tammy Lynn Center and the Rockwood Care Center for their dedicated and loving care of Shannen over the years.
