Sheela Farmay

Sheela Farmay, age 82 of Morrisville, NC, passed Monday May 28, 2018 at Duke Medical Pavilion after an illness. Mrs. Farmay was the widow of the late Dharam Singh Farmay. She was born in Roorkee, UP, India. She was the daughter of the late Gurdial Singh Kainth and the late Ratandaye Devi. Mrs. Farmay was homemaker with a love for her children, grandchildren, and especially her great-grandchildren who always brought a smile to her face. She loved to cook and took great comfort and delight when seeing her family well fed and happy. She was remembered most for her beloved common quote, "Roti kha layi?"

Mrs. Farmay was survived by two sons Kamaljit Farmay(Rashmi) and Tarlochan Farmay(Sarah) both of Morrisville. She was also survived by two daughters Meenu Rana(Bhupinder) of East Meadow, NY and Madhu Singh(Manjeet) of Massapequa, NY. She was survived by seven grandchildren Richa Rana Uddin(Shafiq) of Westbury, NY, Parvinder Farmay of Morrisville, NC, Anjuli Farmay(Soufiane Sayhi) of Cary, NC, Isha Singh and Nishant Singh of Massapequa, NY and Ashish Rana and Nikha Rana of East Meadow, NY. Mrs. Farmay also is survived by three great-grandchildren Aaishah Uddin of Westbury, NY and Nabil and Ilyas Sayhi of Morrisville.

Mrs. Farmay was also survived by several sisters Bimla Devi of Morrisville; Satya Guru, Indra Verma and Rekha Tony of India; and Santosh Buttoo of Huddersfield, UK. She was also survived by a brother Ashok Kainth of Roorkee, India.

Mrs. Farmay was predeceased by her husband and parents as well two brothers Mahinder Kainth and Narinder Kainth of India and one sister Kiran Bedi also of India.

Services will be held Thursday May 31, 2018 at 10:30 am at the Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 300 St. Mary’s Street, Raleigh, NC 27605.
