

Stanly Leroy Heath, retired Captain with the Raleigh Fire Department, passed away on May 20, 2014 after a courageous battle with bladder cancer. Stan was born on September 24, 1956 in Raleigh. He attended Raleigh public schools and graduated from Enloe High School in 1974. After high school, he began his career with the Raleigh Fire Department. Stan achieved the rank of Captain at a very young age. He retired in 2006 after 28 years of service.
Stan was very into fitness and weightlifting. He also enjoyed automobiles, motorcycles, and marksmanship. Through the years, he became a collector of cars and firearms. He loved all animals, but held a special place in his heart for dogs.
Stan is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer Herman Heath, his special dog, Jessica, his brother, Robert Bryan Heath, and his wife, Tracy, and two nephews, Alex and Adam Heath. He also leaves behind many close friends.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at 2:00pm at Highland United Methodist Church, 1901 Ridge Road, Raleigh, NC.
