Bill was born June 8, 1943 in Columbia, SC to George W. Pettigrew, Sr. and Annie Ruth Critcher Pettigrew. He loved his family and was proud of his nieces and nephews. Bill enjoyed trips to the beach, where he enjoyed fishing with his brother and brother-in-law and mountain trips with his family.
He is survived by his brother, George Pettigrew and his wife, Linda of Gastonia; sister, Nancy Ruth Robinson and her husband, Barry of Winston-Salem; and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 23, 2011 at Montlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. prior to the service at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 300 St. Mary’s Street, Raleigh, NC 27605.
