I guess I am the last one to hear about the passing of this kind and generous man whom I am honored to call my friend. 

Loyalty was just one of the many qualities he possessed that I admired. In business, William remained loyal to me when I represented him in real estate transactions at the coast, particularly when competitors attempted to coerce his business away. William would simply tell them, no, I'm doing pretty good with Tom and I think I'll stay put. There were a couple of years when his and Robin's business helped me and my family get through the year successfully.  Now it is March 4th 2011 and I just found out I lost a good friend, so I am presently in mourning. 

Others have written about the love William had for his family and friends.
The passage from 1 Corinthians comes to mind; (If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I become like sounding brass, or a clanging cymbal. And if I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And if I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profiteth me nothing.) 
William loved his family and his friends. 

I say: William you have profited abundantly. 

We can also witness this in Jesus' words In John 13:34 when Jesus said, A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you. 

William lived this commandment. 

To his family, this love will always keep you connected to him, though you are apart, you will always be connected. Love transcends all matter, space and time.

Hello Michael: I'm sorry for your loss. I meet your Father when he bought the property in Zebulon on Chad Rd. He was a good man and respectfull, too. I'm going to miss talking to him. I worked for William in 1996 at GSK. After working for him for just 1 day, he gave me a raise after learning that I was working to support my 2 daughters and 2 step-sons. This act is just one of many that show how much family meant to him. I consider William a friend and he will always be missed.

I only met William a few months ago at the gym. His dedication to walk the laps around the track every morning and afternoon with his walker was very inspiring. Sometimes we would talk as we walked together. He was always upbeat and optimistic. We would encourage each other to keep going.
I didn't know of his passing but missed seeing him on the track. While he was missing I kept putting in my 40 laps around the track. After I leaned of his passing, I have continued to put in 40 laps in his honor.

William inspired many people at my health club and he always brought a smile to my face with his determination and spirit. Several members of the gym have done William's traditional "40 laps" around the walking track in his memory. He will be missed by so many. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. I am very sorry to hear of Butch's passing. I learned about "Uncle Butch" from my sweet wife, Brandi Lynn (Mitchell)  Shores of 5 and one half years. My wife told me about how much he has shown his love to her and many children as if it was his own.  She told me how much she has always love Butch. Uncle Butch was my wife's favorite uncle. Brandi told me how much he love her since she was a small child. He took her to the beach many times and different places with other kids. I can tell by the looks in his pictures, that he was a wonderful man and father. I have never met him and was hoping to meet him one day while he was living. To Williams three kids, Mandy, Michael and Christina, I know how it is to lose a good father because I lost mine 2006 and my mother 2004. I know you missed your father from what I heard how good he was to everyone. I will remember you all in my prayers.

We lived next William for ten years starting in 1992 and during that time we could always count on a smile and a wave whenever we saw him. The deep love and care he had for his family was always enjoyable to see. He also painted several of our houses each time as if they were his own. He was a man who always focused on doing the best possible job for his customers and it showed. Our thoughts and prayers are with Michael, Christina, Robin and all of William's family and friends.

I met William through GSK, and immediately liked him. I mean, who wouldn't?  William had such a presence; a smile that could warm any room, and a heart of gold. He was always so worried about everyone else; what a good man.

Michael and Christina, I lost my dad six years ago, and it really meant a lot to hear from other people that loved him. He was a great dad to you, but he also meant to much so many other people. I doubt there is anyone that he talked to that did not get to hear stories about you and how much he loved you. He was such a wonderful soul, and he loved you very much. My heart goes out to you, and I am so sorry that you are having to go through this.

I am keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. Try to remember all the good times and look to your friends and family for love and support.

My family spent lots of time with William, Rhonda, and Mandy when I was young.  He and my parents had recently rekindled their friendship at Lake Royale.  Wish we could have spent more time together in recent years.

William, my mom has always told me how much you adored me and I have only great memories of you.  Miss you.  God Bless.

I am very saddened at the loss of a father.  I've known William for many years from his association with GSK.  He was always so kind and had a smile on his face.  Please know that my wife and I are in prayer for you at this very sad time.  Just remember, our life on this earth is short, but our eternal life last forever and you will have the joy of seeing him again as he walks with our Lord and Savior in heaven.

William was a great neighbor to us here in Morehead City.  When he worked in his yard he always shared what he had with his neighbors.  He had a big heart and we sure enjoyed knowing him.  Mike and Christina please accept our sympathy in your loss.

Never was there a more helpful, delightful, friendly, and smart man than William J. Taylor. My husband and I worked with William on several occasions. When were we both laid off from our jobs several years ago, William was so kind and told me that if we needed anything, anything at all to let him know. My heart hurts for you and your family.

William was a good boss and friend. I remember him saying many times to me and my coworkers, "Your clocks start at 7am and end at 4:30pm. My clock never stops so that I can keep y'all employed." I learned a lot from him and am grateful. I am so sorry for your loss.
