Benedict J. Ciancio

Ben was born in Ravenna, Ohio on July 6, 1936 to parents Rosario and Angela Ciancio.

Ben enjoyed a long career as a plumber and pipefitter with Akron Local 219 Plumbers and Pipefitters. Over the years made many memories with his friends from the union. Ben was born and raised in Ravenna and cherished all the memories of his youth.

He enjoyed life to the fullest and loved being around people. Ben enjoyed dancing, traveling, walking and eating. Where there was music, Ben was close by. Always happy, always smiling.

Ben is survived by his three children: Angel L. (Ron) Gilliland, Michael B. Ciancio and Alissa J. (Phil) Nider and his grandchildren: Remy, Tessa, Rory, Benjamin and Jeremy. He also leaves 3 nephews, his companion of 22 years, Dianne Bradfield and many, many loving friends.

Friends will be received at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, on Saturday, October 29, 2022 from 11:00am to 12:00pm. Funeral services, officiated by Rev Rich Thewlis, will begin at 12:00pm. Entombment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
