Carol Sue Baxter

She was born on May 13, 1938, in Ashland, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Lillian (Towslee) Vines of Ashland; she was a graduate of Ashland High School. Carol was an athlete during her schools years and enjoyed supporting her children in sports throughout the years, as well as becoming quite the sports fan of Ohio football, basketball, and baseball at all levels. She had lived in the Portage County area since 1979.

Carol cherished spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and always welcomed friends and family into her home. She enjoyed bird-watching (cardinals held a special place in her heart), and tending to her flowers when she wasn’t entertaining guests.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in law, Pamela and Joseph Iarussi of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, and her three sons and daughter-in-laws, Steven and Lee Baxter of Ravenna, OH , Mark and Kimberly Baxter of Parker, CO, Jeffrey and Lisa Baxter of Birmingham, AL, and her step-daughter and son-in-law, Candy and Herb Bores of Tiro, OH; fifteen grandchildren, Greg, Danny, Stephanie, LeAnne, Tyler, Samantha, Andrew, Carly, Jordyn, Kaci, Bryce, Alex, Avery, Olivia, and Savannah; and nine great-grandchildren, Samantha, Natalie, Heather, Aiden, Madison, Jada, Madison, Austin and Mason; and her siblings David Vines, Gloria (Vines) Buckeye, and Jane Vines.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband, David; brother, James Vines; son, Gregory; daughter, Christine; and grandson, Chase.

Graveside services will take place at Restland Cemetery in Brimfield on Thursday, September 8, 2011, at 2:00PM with Pastor David Ballert officiating.
