Born April 22, 1953, in McKees Rocks, PA, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Dorothy (Skubiak) Rowe. Cindy was a member of the New Brighton, PA High School class of 1971. She attended Slippery Rock University where she earned a BS in Chemistry, and later earned a Masters Degree in Library Science from Kent State University.
Cindy was an adventurous and courageous person, and that led to an interesting and somewhat diversified career path in her first 10 years at work. She started as a Chemistry teacher in Beckley, WV right after college. She then moved to the US Virgin Islands and managed quality control services for a large pharmaceutical company on both St Thomas and St Croix for 5 years. Cindy then moved to Ohio, and managed laboratory services for several research scientists at the Northeast Ohio Medical University, in Rootstown. It was then that she earned her Masters of Library Science degree and got her dream job at the Reed Memorial Library in Ravenna, eventually becoming the Reference Librarian until her retirement in 2013.
Cindy met the love of her life, Jeff while finishing up her degree at Kent State, and they would soon marry on November 23, 1985, and eventually settled in Ravenna. Cindy was an accomplished musician and played the clarinet at a very high level in both high school and college. She later fell in love with playing the harp and Jeff became a very accomplished builder of harps and dulcimers, shipping them all over the world and also built Cindy beautiful instruments. Cindy played the harp at various family functions, weddings and local events. She also enjoyed volunteering at local hospitals and playing the harp in the lobby of UH Portage Medical Center.
Cindy and Jeff loved to travel and see the world and visited many of their customers during their travels and cruises.
Surviving is her husband of 39 years, Jeff, her brother, Bert (Barb) Rowe, nephew, Randy (Kaitlyn) Rowe, and their children Finn and Josie, nephew Alec (Kate) Rowe, niece Samantha (Jared) Woodward and well as cousins Sandra (Dick) Costin and Joyce Fields and close friends Kenny & Beth Ahrens.
Cindy was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Paul Rowe.
