He was born June 3, 1950, in Charleston, West Virginia, a son of the late Glen H. and Mary L. (Smith) Richards. Darrell was a veteran of the US Army and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. He worked at Kent State University with the Campus Environment and Operations department. Darrell enjoyed camping and restoring old cars, especially his 1939 Dodge.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years Sherry Richards, his daughter Suzi (Dennis) Megraw of Ravenna, and his grandson Liam Megraw. Darrell is also survived by his sisters Joyce (David) Jones of Rockmart, GA, and Rosemary (Chuck) Bryce of Xenia, OH.
Friends will be received Tuesday, April 26, 2011, from 5-7 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Grandview Memorial Park with military honors.
