

He was born August 24, 1927, in Blue Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, to parents Ezra and Ruby Stevens. Darrell was a veteran of the US Army, proudly serving his country in the Pacific Theater during WWII. He worked for Republic Steel in Youngstown and later retired from LTD in Warren. Darrell also spent much of his time on the family farm. He will be remembered as a kind and gentle man who was hardworking, and loved his family.
Darrell is survived by his son: Randy (Michelle) Stevens of Atwater; daughter-in-law: Jaime Stevens of Alliance; grandchildren: Sarah Stevens, Bryan Stevens, Christopher (Linda) Gates, Scott Gates, Joseph Moff, and Alex Moff; brother Shelby Stevens; brothers-in-law: Walter (Linda) Scott and Michael Scott; sisters-in-law: Barbara Brown, Jane Gotshall, and Sharon Scott.
Darrell was preceded in death by his beloved wife Beatrice “Birdie” Stevens on January 9, 2000. He was also preceded by his parents, his son Larry Stevens, brother Linden, and sisters Barb, Vera, and Freda.
Friends will be received Saturday, December 14, 2013, from 11:00 AM until the 12:00 PM funeral service officiated by Pastor David Ballert at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna. Interment will follow with full military honors provided by the US Army and Deerfield American Legion Post 713 at West Cemetery in Palmyra.
