He was born August 6, 1956, in Ravenna, Ohio, to parents Eloise Theresa (Luli) and John Patrick Miley Sr. David was a loving husband and proud father, who always put family first in his life. He grew up in Rootstown and was a lifelong member of St. Peter of the Fields Parish. David was always willing to help others.
He enjoyed traveling with his family to Florida, Tennessee, and Niagara Falls. David also traveled around the world as a proud veteran of the US Army, serving as a Staff Sargent in Operation Desert Storm. He worked as an HVAC Technician, most recently at CMI. With those skills, and the skills he learned in the military, David was a natural “jack-of-all-trades” who could do anything.
Twenty six years ago on November 12th, he married the love of his life, Claudia (Calabria) Miley. She survives him, along with their two children: Kellie and Anthony Miley. David’s memory will also be cherished by his mother Eloise Miley, his brothers and sisters: Jack (Chris) Miley, Jill Trexler, Tim (Chris) Miley, and Terri (Larry) Seneski, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
David was preceded in death by his father John Miley Sr., and his beloved mother and father-in-law, Amelia and Tony Calabria.
Friends will be received Monday, January 19, 2015, from 3:00 – 7:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend David Misbrener on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at St. Peter of the Fields Catholic Church, 3487 Old Forge Rd., Rootstown.
Condolences and memories may be shared at www.wood-kortright-borkoski.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the David Miley Memorial Fund established at Key Bank for his children’s education.
