She was born October 10, 1955, in Ashtabula, Ohio, to parents Richard Edward and Jane Geraldine (Cottrell) Wanyek. Debbie was the type of person who always put other’s needs before her own. This led her to work as a caregiver and home health aide. Her kindness served as an inspiration to many, and she truly let her light shine.
Debbie was a devoted Christian and member of the Freedom in Christ Fellowship Church. She had a generous spirit and enjoyed giving Bibles and other small gifts to her family, friends, and sometimes complete strangers. Many of these gifts came from her bargain hunting trips at area yard sales and thrift stores.
Most of all, Debbie cherished the time spent with her family. She is survived by her children: Eddie Wanyek, Christine “Sissy” Wanyek, Angie Treadwell, and Sonny Stevenson; grandchildren: Nicole (Jordan) Near, Paige Vanderhoff, Sierra (Benji) Goff, Noah Vanderhoff, Aleya Treadwell, and Thurman Treadwell; as well as her great-grandchildren: Darci Grace and Lincoln Goff. Debbie is also survived by her siblings: Chuck (Jen) Wanyek, Gina Brunswick-Wanyek, Jerome Wanyek, Jane McDole, and Curt Wanyek, along with many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jon Oberholtzer, her grandson Malachi Treadwell, and her brothers Carl and Rick Wanyek.
Debbie’s wishes for cremation are being honored. Friends and family will be received Tuesday, December 19, 2017, from 5:00 – 6:00 PM, with a memorial service officiated by Pastor Keith Farmer following at 6:00 PM at the Fellowship in Christ Church, 1011 W. Main St., Ravenna.
Condolences and memories may be shared at www.wood-kortright-borkoski.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the family would be appreciated.
