Dolores was born on May 18, 1934 in Institute, West Virginia to parents Magnus and Goldie Meadows. She had been a resident of Ravenna, Ohio since 1973 where she raised her family with her husband of 65 years, John Chic. Dolores had been a pre-school teacher at Storybook House in Ravenna, retiring after 31 years of teaching. She loved baking, and shopping and liked to donate to Goodwill. She had a heart of gold and personally took care of many of the children’s needs outside of her responsibilities at Storybook House. Most of all she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Dolores is survived by her husband John Chic and her children: John Chic, Cynthia Chic, Mark Chic and Marcia Chic. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Micah (Briana Ballinger) Chic-Colbert, Ethan Chic-Colbert, Jonathan Chic, Mrs. Ciara Chic-Kimbrough and Juan Chic. She also leaves many loving great-grandchildren and one sister.
She was preceded in death by her parents and five siblings.
Friends will be received on Monday, July 16, 2018 at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna from 11:00am to 12:00pm where funeral services, officiated by Elder James Sanders, will be held at 12:00pm. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
