Dolores Elaine McPherson

She was born August 19, 1937, in Pricedale, Pennsylvania, to parents Herman and Olive (Steiner) Dawson. Dolores was a devout Christian and former member of Victory Baptist Church for several decades. She was always helping with church functions.

Dolores moved to Cleveland in 1952 and married George Babareka. Together they raised three children, Susan, Dennis, and Kathy. She later married Roger McPherson in 1979, and he passed away in 2022.

Dolores enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and across the world. She also enjoyed working on crossword puzzles. Dolores considered herself to be a food connoisseur. She loved to cook for family and her church, and was never shy about taking home some leftovers.

Dolores is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Susan (Bill) Kruis, her granddaughters Cristy (Denney, her actual favorite) Sherman, Hannah and Helen McPherson, and her great-grandchildren: Alex (Paige) Dvorak, Ashley Dvorak (who she spent the summer sharing her life stories with), and Samantha Cavanaugh, along with many loving extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Roger McPherson, her son Dennis Babareka, her daughter Kathy Babareka, her grandson Phillip Kruis, and her brothers Dale Dawson and Bob Henderson.

Friends and family will be received Thursday, December 14, 2023, from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM with funeral services officiated by Pastor David Ballert at 12:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Streetsboro.
