Eleanor Irene Sears

Eleanor moved to northeast Ohio at a young age. She met the love of her life, Buel Martin Sears, and they were married on November 22, 1962. Together, they raised three children, Theresa, Karen, and Martin. She was always proud of her family and felt truly blessed.

Eleanor retired from the Ravenna GE Lamp Plant in 2003, and became an active member of the Ravenna Senior Center and the Streetsboro Senior Center. Eleanor enjoyed playing games, especially dominos. In her earlier years, she enjoyed bowling and golfing. She always had a love for gardening and tending to her flowers.

Eleanor is survived by her children: Theresa (Jon) Summers, Karen Miller, and Martin (Kim) Sears, her grandchildren: Blake, Megan (Nick), Bridgitte, Samantha, Gretchin, Gary, Cooper, and Keegan, as well as her great-grandchildren: Dalton, Anakin, Theodore, Nash, and Gwendolyn, with another on the way. She is also survived by her siblings: Albert Johnson, Thelma (Richard) Wilson, and Dorothy Dent, along with generations of nieces and nephews.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Buel Martin Sears, her siblings: Alice Brady, William Johnson, and Carol Boyle, and her son-in-law Gary Miller.

Friends and family will be received Wednesday, April 1, 2026, from 3:00 – 5:00 PM with a funeral service officiated by Pastor Scott Hindel at 5:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E Main St., Ravenna. A time of fellowship will follow. Her final resting place will be beside her husband at Maple Grove Cemetery.
