
Joann was born in Ravenna, Ohio on January 7, 1935, to parents Simone and Evita (Dantone) Bruno. Over her lifetime she had been a beautician, worked at Triangle Drugstore, Holiday Sands in the ticket booth and driving range and a homemaker for her family.
Joann had been a longtime member of Immaculate Conception Church. She enjoyed attending her card club with longtime best friends and was very artistic who loved to paint and loved her art club days. Joann enjoyed her home, gardening and cooking. She loved to shop but what gave her the most joy was being a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother to her family.
Joann is survived by her children Dorene Kerestesy, David Damicone and Michael Damicone. Left also to cherish her memory are grandchildren Ariane (Chris) Martin, Gianna Kerestesy, Neil Nagy, Paige (Chris) Henson, Thomas Damicone, Jonah Damicone and great-grandchildren Willow Henson and baby Martin due in May. She also leaves her brother Frank Bruno, daughter-in-law Stefani Maroni and her beloved furry friends Jade and Blue.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John Damicone and her siblings Carmella Johns, Rose Wilkinson and John Bruno.
Friends will be received at Immaculate Conception Church, 409 W. Main St., Ravenna, on Monday, February 10, 2025, from 10am until the 11am Mass of Christian Burial officiated by Rev. William Kraynak. Inurnment will be at St. Mary Cemetery.
Memorial donations would be appreciated and can be made in her name to either the Alzheimer’s Association or to the Dementia Society of America.
