Frederick L Edwards Sr.

He was born May 7, 1941, in Akron, Ohio, to parents Edna C. (Hampton) and Joseph F. Edwards. Fred grew up in Akron and graduated from Hower High School.

Fred was an active member of Friendship Bible Church and was always willing to help others. He was the owner of Edward’s Automotive in Brimfield and often supported the Brimfield community through his business. Fred was a talented autobody repairman and painter. He enjoyed working on cars and restoring classic cars.

Fred is survived by his beloved wife Sherry Edwards who he married in 2018. He is also survived by his children: Susan (Russ) Burkett, Frederick (Karen) Edwards Jr., and Cheryl (Mark) Belka, his step-son Ricky Mays, his brother Bill Edwards, as well as all of his loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Marilyn Jean Edwards, and his siblings: Genia, Dotti, Polly, Retha, Richard, Elsie, and Jim.

Friends and family will be received Tuesday, February 3, 2026, from 10:00 – 11:00 AM with a funeral service officiated by Pastor Bob Burgess at 11:00 AM at Friendship Bible Church, 1703 State Route 44, Atwater, OH 44201 (Randolph Township). Interment will follow at Restland Cemetery in Brimfield.
