James Ray Sutcliffe Sr.

Jim was born on November 27, 1956, in Alliance, Ohio, to parents Robert Hutson and Mary Jane (Miller) Sutcliffe. He graduated from Southeast High School in 1976. Jim was a truck driver for several area businesses including Pennzoil, W. Pol Contracting, and most recently with his son at Chris’ Custom Concrete.

Jim was an avid Cleveland Browns fan and member of the Lake Milton Browns Backers #214. James loved being around family and friends, he never met a stranger. He mostly cherished the time spent with his family at their lake house on Lake Mohawk.

Jim is survived by his sons: James (Jennifer) Sutcliffe Jr., Joseph (Brandy) Sutcliffe, and Christopher (Candice) Sutcliffe, his grandchildren: Payton, Mya, and Cole, and his siblings: Robert Allen Sutcliffe, Dororthy Sutcliffe, and Vaughn Sutcliffe, along with many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Pamela Kay Sutcliffe, and his brother Bill Sutcliffe.

Friends and family will be received Monday, November 3, 2025, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home in Ravenna, where funeral services will be officiated by Reverend Tina Gallaher on Tuesday at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Deerfield Cemetery.
