She was born July 8, 1949, in Cleveland, Ohio, a daughter of the late Alvin and Elaine (Spooner) Schwanke. Jan was devoted to her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister. Jan will fondly be remembered for her infectious laugh and willingness to help others.
She retired from Robinson Memorial Hospital in 2011, prior to that she was a bus driver for Happy Day School. However, her main love was that of being a homemaker. She loved to sew quilts and clothing, and make Halloween costumes for family and friends. Jan also enjoyed traveling, crafts and other do-it-yourself projects. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
