Jeanenne was born in Pittsburgh, PA. on April 21, 1939 to parents Norman and Edith (Walls) Grace. She graduated from South Hills High School with the class of 1956 and then attended Slippery Rock College from 1956-1958. Jeanenne met her future husband Duane on a blind date and married him in 1959. She and Duane moved to Ohio in 1969. She loved children and spent much of her working career in child care. Much of that time was spent in the Methodist Church’s “Tots” Learning Center where she and her family attended church and also the Ravenna Child Care through the Ravenna Schools. Jeanenne also spent five years assisting the many patrons and registering brides to be at Picciones Jewelers in Ravenna. Jeanenne enjoyed baking and never knew anyone whom she couldn’t find some good in them. She was dubbed by many of her friends as the “Mayor of Ravenna” because she knew so many people. As busy as she was, Jeanenne also found time to enjoy her involvement in the many committees of the First United Methodist Church in Ravenna, Welcome Wagon, Literary Guild and was President of the Willyard Elementary PTA.
Jeanenne will be sadly missed by her husband of 58 years, Duane and their children: Laura (Murphy) Underwood and Tim D. Bostic. She also leaves her sister Susan (Sylvester) Hughes, nephews: Norman (Lisa) Grace, Andrew Grace, Mark (Melissa) Hughes and nieces: Cindy (Bruce) Nelson, Alicia (Frank) Yeboah-Kodie.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Norman Grace.
Friends and loved ones will be received on Monday, August 21, 2017 at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, from 3:00pm until the 5:00pm funeral service. Private burial will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery.
