Judith Marie Lane

Judy was born in Akron, Ohio on July 1, 1939 to parents, Wilburn Webb and Jayne Gougler Morris. She earned her degree from Ashland University and enjoyed her career as a teacher. She taught school in Orrville, Ohio; Brimfield, Ohio; Roselle Park, New Jersey and Newark, New Jersey. Judy was active and enjoyed participating in the Jr. Tuesday Literary Club, the Young At Heart Club and the Infant Prague Society. She was also involved with the KSU Blue & Gold Club, KSU Presidents Club and the KSU Football Scholarship Donors. Judy was an avid bridge player and belonged to several bridge clubs. She was a member of the Sebring Country Club in North Benton. Judy enjoyed spending time with her fun cardio rehab group and was an avid reader, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially all her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, J. Marsh Lane and her daughter, Elizabeth Jayne (Darrin) Chapin. She is survived also by her grandchildren: Justin Chapin, Ryan Dentscheff, Tyler Chapin, Zachary Chapin and Nadia Grace Chapin. Surviving Judy also is her sister, JoAnn Morris Brown of Aurora, Colorado and her sister-in laws: Nikki (Charles) Garrett, Priscilla Lane and Suzanne Lane Binz. Judy also leaves her 5 nieces and 2 nephews, 6 great-nieces & nephews and 2 great-great nieces. Judy was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Charles Arthur Morris and her niece, Vanessa J. Brown.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at the Wood-Kortright- Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, from 6:00PM until 8:00PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00AM by Reverend John-Michael Lavelle on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at the Immaculate Conception Church, 409 W. Main St., Ravenna. Burial will follow at Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent, Ohio.
