

Leonard was born in Akron, Ohio on November 14, 1929 to parents Almon and Margaret (Wearstler) McKay. He worked as a heavy equipment operator but spent the majority of his working life involved in the residential and commercial title business. Leonard was a Korean War veteran in the U.S. Airforce. Leonard was an extremely involved and active man who also served 6 years as a Randolph Township Trustee. He was a member of the Akron Toastmasters Club, the Randolph Lions Club and the Summit County Land Title Association. He also was a member of the Chapel in Marlboro of which he was heavily involved. Leonard also taught Real Estate Law at Akron University and speech to the children at Good Shepherd School in Marlboro. He was a big supporter of the Boy Scouts and enjoyed hunting.
Leonard is survived by his wife of 55 years, Virginia. Surviving also are his children: Larry McKay, Dennis (Gloria) McKay, Rodger (Kelli) McKay, Randy (Kris) McKay and Sue Ellen (Stephen) Bryk. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Scott McKay, Mike (Amy) McKay, Alison McKay, Larry (Angelica) McKay Jr., Danny McKay, Anna McKay, Arik McKay, Michelle (Josh) Pritt, John (Nicole) McKay, Amanda McKay, Kara McKay, James (Deseree) McKay, Jennifer McKay, Janel McKay, Evan (Rachel) Bryk and Owen (Reka) Bryk. He also leaves 15 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is his brother-in-law Dale Taylor and his sister-in-law, Joan King and many nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends on Monday, September 26, 2011 at the Chapel in Marlboro from 4:00PM until 7:00PM. Friends will also be received on Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at the Chapel in Marlboro, 8700 Edison St. Louisville, Ohio from 10:00AM until the 11:00AM funeral service officiated by Pastor Joel Cochran and Reverend Don Davies. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Randolph.
