She was born January 2, 1936, in Painesville, Ohio, to parents Kenneth Cecil and Agnes Frances (Knafel) Brown. Marie worked for several area rubber manufacturers, and retired from Morris Control.
Family was always paramount in Marie’s life, and she took pride in providing for them. Marie loved to go shopping and ride around in her car. She also loved plants and animals, especially her cats. Marie was also a talented seamstress.
Marie is survived by daughter Gayle Whittier, her grandchildren: Chad Whittier and Melissa Whittier, as well as her great-grandchildren: Connor, Marshall, and Kaelynn.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Larry Witt, and her sons Steve, David, and Greg Scales.
Her wishes for cremation are being honored. Friends and family will be received Friday, January 24, 2025, from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E Main St, Ravenna.
