Mark E. Kippes

He was born in Akron on 10/23/54 and soon moved to Virginia Beach. His parents are John Albert Kippes and Ruth Carlyle Sears.

Mark went into the United States Navy in 03/10/1977 untill honorable discharged on 07/10/1980.

He served board the USS Hammerhead submarine. He was an Electricians Mate. Born into a Navy family and inspired most of his children to follow in his footsteps. After his military service he started working for the Veterans Administration as a pipe fitter technician. He retired there after 33 years of service.

He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and going hunting and fishing. One of his main hobbies was his love for his trains. He loved tinkering and playing with all his train parts and sets. He was an amazing coach to many kids throughout his years. His main passion was getting to spend time with all of his grandkids. They all looked up to him.

Mark was a devoted and loving husband to his wife Therese Kippes for 46 years. He is survived by his children, Mark Kippes Jr, Bryan Kippes and Theresa Kippes. Also survived by his brothers, Steve Kippes, John Kippes, and Samuel Kippes. His grandchildren are Bryce Jackson, Allyssa Kippes, Gabriel Kippes, Maverick Kippes, and Sammy Jackson.

Also in the prayers are his deceased daughter Samantha Jackson and his brother Adam Kippes.

Mark will be having a Military Service on Friday, July 11th, 2025 at Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home.
