Mary Edith Van Aken

Mary was born in North Plainfield, New Jersey on July 14, 1960 to parents Robert and Fay Errington. Mary had worked as a home health aid until retiring due to health reasons. She was a very outgoing, social person who gave of herself. Mary loved her family dearly and loved to take care of everybody. One of her favorite times that she loved were her family get-togethers. Mary attended the First Congregational Church in Ravenna and was active in the Ravenna Balloon-A-Fair committee and the quilting group at the First United Methodist Church. She was a volunteer at the Haven of Portage County and most recently donated her time as a counselor at Carita’s Café in Ravenna.

Mary is survived by her husband of 11 years, Henry Van Aken and her children: Daniel Salisbury, David (Laurie) Salisbury, Henry C. (Kristen) Van Aken, Jr. and Cassandra (Neftali Velez) Van Aken. She also leaves 26 loving grandchildren. Also surviving are her siblings: Heidi Errington, Josh Errington, Donna Atkinson, Kim (Eric) Martin, Daryl (Sonya) Johnson, Connie (Stacy) Hedrick and her step-mother Ina Errington.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, November 18, 2017 from 11:00am until 1:00pm to Celebrate her Life at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St. in Ravenna.
