He was born September 2, 1948, in Ravenna, Ohio, to parents David Stacy and Audrey (Belknap) Wilson. Melvin graduated from Crestwood High School in 1967. He then joined the United States Navy and proudly served in the Vietnam War. In his spare time, Mel enjoyed listening to music, reading, and eating, especially desserts. Melvin was a very gentle and quiet man. You never knew what he was thinking.
Mel is survived by his siblings: Louella Fedor, Gary Wilson, John Wilson, and David Joe (Sue) Wilson, along with generations of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Sherry Wilson, and his sister Anne Meihls.
His wishes for cremation are being honored. He will be laid to rest beside his wife in Maple Grove Cemetery with military funeral honors.
