Michael Robert Holdt

Michael Robert Holdt passed away with his loving family by his side on February 25, 2025, in Akron, Ohio. May his memory bring comfort and fond memories to those who knew him. He was born September 24, 1946, to Jack and Genevieve (Bernie) Holdt in East Cleveland. Ohio. Preceding him in death are his parents; wife Barbara in 2011; and his sister, Joyce Shaughnessy.

He is survived by his sons, Robert Michael Holdt (Rebecca Murphy) and Dennis Roy Holdt (Barbara Albaugh); stepson, Troy Roma; grandchildren Katie Marie Holdt, Michael Dennis Holdt (Brittany), and Jack Robert Holdt; step-granddaughter, Tara Roma, 2 great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Christine and Rick Ledbetter; brother and sister-in-law Terry and Elaine Holdt; and former wife and caregiver, Marion Gordon.

An avid Ohio sports fan, Mike was a dedicated golfer and closely followed Cleveland sports teams The Guardians, The Cavaliers, and The Browns. While at Geneva High School Mike was Captain of the football team. He diligently attended the sporting events of his sons.

Mike retired from The Tasty Pure Food Company, Akron, Ohio, after his long sales career in the food industry

It is with deepest appreciation we thank the dedicated staff at Tamarack Ridge Health and Rehabilitation Center for their compassion and respect. While there he formed the group called The Vintage Riders and led them on many excursions around the grounds.

Once you knew Mike, you could never forget his eternally positive attitude or his unforgettable baritone laughter. His motto was “60 more years.” Truly a life well-lived.

A Celebration of Life is planned for 2:30 PM on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Gougler Park.
