Nancy Alice (Ashenfelter- Pavlik) Powlowski. On January 10, 2012 our wonderful mother, Nancy, passed away into the arms of our Lord at the age of 68. Anyone who had the privilege of knowing our Mom, knows that there wasn't a more fun loving, kind hearted, giving woman. She appreciated life and loved her children and grandchildren more than anything on this earth. She loved to laugh, she loved to spend time with her family and she loved to read. She was an amazing, gifted and talented person who had a way with words and penned three books as a result of that. She loved the medical field, often times over the course of her life wanting to become a physician but life took her in a different direction and instead, she made it her goal to be the best mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend. She was loved by many and she loved back with all she had. Over the last eight months while recovering from her heart attack, she fought the good fight with strength, grit and determination. Even in spite of her constant state of pain, her many set backs and her rough up hill climb, she never gave up. Through tears and smiles, she forged on every day as we cheered her on to victory but sadly, her body could not fight any longer and she made the decision to go home to the Lord ,and surrounded by her family, she did just that. She is preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Mildred Ashenfelter and her first grandchild, Dustin. She is survived by her siblings, Bud Ashenfelter, Linda Gant and Timothy Ashenfelter; her children Denise Ramey, Cher Pavlik, Robbin (Howard) Moore, Karen (Jim) Rodhe, Nancy (Cyprien) Waskiewicz, Tracey (Burness) Scarbro, Dana Pavlik, Mike Powlowski, and Brook Powlowski; her special daughter, Pamela Bovino Griggs; her grandchildren, Krystal, Kera, Josh, Zach, Greydon, Curtis, Sam, Alex, Nancy, Bradley, Ellsbeth, Emilee, Matthew, Steven, Taylor, Amira, Mitchell and Aaron; her best friends Marilyn and Bev; many nieces and nephews; and a tremendous amount of life long friends. Cremation has taken place. There will be no funeral service as her wishes were for us to celebrate her life in the summer where we are to place a chair in the warm sun with a glass of iced tea and reminisce over good times. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Dana Pavlik, 1350 Whittlesey Ave. Atwater, OH 44201 to cover burial costs. A special thank you to all the friends and family who have given us their love, support and prayers over these last several months and especially these last several days. Thank you to BK Hall who made her feel so special during her time of recovery and delivered on every promise she had made. To all the health care staff at Woodlands Nursing Home and Robinson Memorial Hospital who did an amazing job taking care of our Mom and encouraging her to fight the good fight. To Dr. John Abboud, who proved to our Mom every day why she had such a passion in her heart to be a doctor. Your kindness, compassion and generosity will forever live on in our hearts. Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever. Psalm 23:6.
