

Nicholas Ian “Nick” Kemp, 41, passed away unexpectedly on July 5, 2025. Nick was born in Austin, Texas on October 28, 1983. He attended Springfield Local Elementary in New Middletown, Ohio until 3rd grade, and then attended Kent Schools, graduating from Theodore Roosevelt High School in 2002. Nick was a Boy Scout for many years and earned his Eagle Scout Award by creating the trail at River Bend Park in Kent.
Nick attended KSU and spent a semester studying TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) in Dresden, Germany. He enjoyed traveling and visited many countries in Europe. He also traveled across the United States and lived in California for a few months. Nick was very interested in trees, plants, and gardening. He loved dogs and animals. Most recently he worked as a kitchen manager at Panini’s in Kent where he will be missed by many.
Nick is survived by his mother, Karen Kemp-Hultman. Also surviving him are his uncles, Wayne (Sue) Kemp, Bruce Kemp, Robert (Laura) Kemp and many cousins. He will also be deeply missed by the many friends he considered family. He was preceded in death by Thomas Hultman, who loved and raised him as a father, his grandmother Lillian Kemp, and his Uncle Larry and Aunt Nancy Kemp.
Friends and family are invited to gather for a Celebration of Life to be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna.
