Robert W. Abbuhl

Known as Bob to family and friends, he graduated from Southeast High School in 2000, and later from University of Northwestern Ohio. Bob was employed with Louisville City Schools as a mechanic. His main passions in life were being a firefighter and a father.

Bob was a member of the Palmyra Township Fire Department, the Edinburg Township Fire Department, and the Portage County Water Rescue Team. He was a father to Jessica and Thomas, and always active in their lives. Bob was a youth wrestling and soccer coach. He was also a Band Dad, Choir Dad, and Drama Dad.

He will be remembered for his willingness to help anybody and his keen sense of humor. Bob also enjoyed cooking, grilling, and smoking meats. He was a friend to all who knew him.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife Katherine (Wilkerson) Abbuhl, who he married on May 25, 2008. He is also survived by his children Jessica and Thomas, his parents Ronald and Donna Abbuhl, his sister Michelle, his nephews Aiden and Evann, and his mother-in-law Irene Wilkerson.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Madalynn Jane, his grandparents: Jennings and Betty Flint, and Robert and Twila Abbuhl, and his father-in-law Thomas Wilkerson.

A firefighter tribute will take place on Sunday, October 5, 2025, followed by a public visitation from 1:00 – 4:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, where funeral services will be held on Monday, October 6, 2025, at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Deerfield Cemetery.
