Dr. Roy L. Heaton Jr. D.D.S. passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, May 18, 2018 at the age of 66. Roy was born in Clarksburg, West Virginia on January 23, 1952 to parents Roy Lee Sr. and Burldine (Dena) Heaton. Roy was a graduate of Crestwood High School, class of 1970, and from Case Western Reserve School of Dentistry in 1984. He operated his own dental practice in downtown Mantua for 30 years.
Roy was a member of the Mantua Kiwanis Club and a strong supporter of the local community. Roy was a fan of all the Cleveland sports teams. He enjoyed scuba diving, target/sport shooting and boating. He valued his family greatly and was deeply saddened by his wife Jeanette’s recent passing.
Roy is survived by his son Paul of Cleveland and his mother Dena Heaton of Mantua. Roy is also survived by his brothers: Ed (Nancy) Heaton, Tim (Peg) Heaton and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Roy Sr. and his wife Jeanette.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at the Blackhorse Baptist Church, 6360 Bridge St., Ravenna, with Pastor Tom Mesaros officiating. A luncheon will follow, in the fellowship hall. Roy will be laid to rest privately at a later date.
