Russell was born in Avenmor, PA. on February 5, 1924 to parents Robert and Catherine Hilty. He was an operating engineer in road construction and retired from Hecket Company at Republic Steel in Canton after 12 years of service. Russell was a member of Teamsters Local 18. He was a private person who enjoyed fishing and loved his tractors. He also loved a good nap.
Mr. Hilty is survived by his daughters: Debbie (Ed) Boles, Lisa Long, Tracy (Jerry) Welch and Kelly Olzak. He also leaves many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and sister and brother-in-law Barbara and Bob Coleman.
Russell was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Vera Hilty, his brother Earl Hilty and his sister Pearl.
There will be no visitation and private funeral services will be held. Interment will follow at Palmyra Cemetery.
