Ruth Elizabeth Lumeyer Smith

She was born on March 24, 1936, in Ravenna, Ohio, to parents Arnon and Donna (Plum) Lumeyer. Ruth enjoyed growing up on the family farm on Fairchild Avenue in Kent, Ohio. She attended Roosevelt High School and was a graduate of Gerber Beauty School in Akron. Ruth was proud of the Vanity Flair Beauty Parlor she operated in Windham and enjoyed the many friends and acquaintances she made there. In her later years, Ruth lived in North Carolina and Florida before returning to Ohio to spend time with her family.

She is survived by her siblings: Kent Lumeyer of Stow, Ann Lumeyer of Arkansas, as well as her children: Tracy (Cathy) Donell, David Donell, Sheila (Terry) Dowdy, Donna (Jeff) Montecalvo, and many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers William and John Lumeyer, former husband Tracy Donell, and her daughter Lisa Donell.

Cremation has taken place and friends will be received Friday, November 6, 2015, from 5:00 – 6:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna. Pastor Tommie Nicholas will officiate her memorial service immediately following at 6:00 PM. She will be laid to rest at 12:00 PM on Saturday at Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent.
