Sarah Riffle

Sarah was born October 2, 1928 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Clarence and Catherine (Warner) Wallace. She was a graduate of Fairmont High School in Kettering, Ohio. She married her high school sweetheart, “Bobby”. She was a member of the historic Normandy Church in Centerville, Ohio and loved singing in the choir. After moving to northern Ohio, she was a member and continued to sing in the choir at Valley Presbyterian Church in Chagrin Falls for many years, and attended The Church in Aurora for her remaining years.

Sarah loved to golf. She was a founding member of Tanglewood Golf Club, along with her husband Bobby. She enjoyed the golf trips with their many friends, flying and had her pilot’s license. Sarah was an avid and lifetime Cleveland Browns fan and you could find her at the stadium on Sunday during any weather. She was the owner of a wine store, horse farm, and a latent artist. For many years, she loved spending her winters in Palm Desert, California where enjoyed and collected Southwest American Art. She will be remembered for always being on the go and always ready for a long road trip!

Besides her parents, Sarah is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Riffle, her daughter Shannon Adele, her brother Jim and sisters Mary and Janet.

She is survived by her daughter, Michele Cigary, her son Dyke Riffle, four grandchildren, Michael (Trisha) Meadows, Amanda Riffle, Casey Riffle, and Jessica (Jorge) Piño; four great grandchildren Alana, Sadie, Kiera, and Emma; one great-great granddaughter Nevaeh; and a brother Virgil (Ivy) Wallace. She was well loved by her caretakers Darla, Debra and Cheryl.

Friends may call Noon - 2:00PM Saturday, October 14th at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 East Main St., Ravenna, Ohio 44266. 330-296-6436. The funeral service will begin at 2:00PM with Pastor Kate Walsh, officiant.
