

When he was young, he delivered papers on horseback for the Record-Courier. He worked for Gougler Industries/ Furukawa Rock Drilling as a Plant Supervisor until he retired.
Tom was loved by everyone. His calm, caring demeanor and his charm would win anyone over in an instant. He was an avid sports fan. He loved watching and attending Cleveland sports events and watching The Ohio State Buckeye’s football team. He also loved antiques and boating.
Tom is survived by his wife Ann Geiger-Smith, of 32 years and his three daughters; Kimberly McGinnis, Brenda Kiss (Jeff) and Lisa Henninger (Leo). Papa Tom or Grandpa Tom was also loved very much by his grandchildren; Ryan McGinnis (Amy), Shaun McGinnis (Jessica), Emily Sebai (Rami), Andrew Henninger and Ethan Barton. He was blessed with three great grandchildren as well; Luca McGinnis, Callen McGinnis and Mazin Sebai. Tom is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents Oliver and Louise Smith; his sister Delores Chechak (Thomas) and two brothers Franklin Smith (Barbara) and Robert Smith.

Tom’s family will receive friends to celebrate his life on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 from 4pm – 6pm at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna.
