On January 12, 1942 Virginia A. was born in Pike County, Hardy, Kentucky, to the late Martha and Sampy Allen. She was the youngest of 5 siblings; brothers Bobby, Virgil, Eudell (all proceeded her in death) and sister Shirley. She attended the Church of God where she sung with her mom and sister. Here is where she met Jack Sullivan and both instantly became the love each other lives. Married April 30th, 1960. To this union two children were born, Pamela and Teresa.
Virginia loved to listen to music and sing. She always had a song in her heart, a smile on her face and words to share with others. Sewing was her passion. Caring for her family was her life. Attending church gave her the fulfillment of peace and joy. Virginia and Jack became members at Shepherd Joy Ministry under Pastor Roy Harman.
Three years ago Virginia’s health started to decline. Because of Jack and Teresa’s unconditional love for Virginia, they both graciously and lovingly cared for her at home until her passing. Throughout this time Virginia treasured going for walks, doctor’s appointments and lots of mother and daughter talks with Teresa. Virginia was called from labor to life eternal Sunday, July 22, 2018 in the comfort of her home.
She leaves behind precious memories of days gone by to be cherished by her husband of 58 years, Jack Sullivan, daughters: Pamela and Teresa, grandchildren: Richard, Timothy, JT, and Mark and her sister Shirley.
Virginia was preceded in death by her great-granddaughter Scarlet and her brother-in-law Benny.
It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone. A part of us went with you, the day God called you home. God saw you getting weary, and did what he thought best. He put His arms around you, and whispered, come and rest.

Family will receive friends on Friday, July 27, 2018, at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, from 10:00am until the funeral service, officiated by Pastor Roy Harman, at 11:00am. Interment at Drakesburg Cemetery will immediately follow.
