William was born in Rosedale, West Virginia on March 25, 1938 to parents Charles and Agra Lambert. William was retired from the Akron Beacon Journal after 33 years of service where he had been a district manager in the circulation department. He was a member of the Teamsters Union and had attended Community Bible Church in Rootstown. William was a jokester and always a very happy person. He liked to work outside and was always fixing things. William had a keen interest in history and antique cars and loved drinking coffee – all day! He enjoyed sitting on his deck relaxing and absolutely loved his family and his grandchildren. They filled up a large part of his life.
William is survived by his wife of 56 years, Judith A. Lambert and their children: Renee Lambert, William (Sandra) Lambert II and Carl (Melissa) Lambert. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren 1 great-grandchild, his brother Robert (Joan) Lambert and sisters: Geraldine (Walter) Strawman and Louise (Edsel) Minney.
William was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Barrett Lambert and his sister Valijean Marlow.
Family will receive friends to celebrate William’s life on Saturday, October 7, 2017 from 1:00pm until 3:00pm at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, Ohio 44266.
Memorial donations can be made in William’s name to the Rootstown Fire Department.
The family would like to thank all of the Doctors, Nurses and Staff of UH Portage Medical Center and UH Hospital in Cleveland for all the expert and kind care given to William.
