William R. Young

Bill graduated while in the US Navy and served five years in the Korean War. He retired from Portage County Water Resources after 25 years and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Ravenna. Bill enjoyed working and helping any way he could around the church. He also enjoyed coaching little league baseball and watching football.

Bill is survived by his wife of 60 years Helen “Louise” (England) Young; son: Terry L. (fiancée Linda Moyer) Young; grandchildren: Daniel T. and Felicia L. Young; also survived by his nieces and nephews and his faithful companion “Buddy”.

He was preceded in death by his son Danny L. Young in 1970 and his sisters Marjorie, Dorothy, and Katherine, and his brother Clifford.

Friends will be received Wednesday, January 12, 2011, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, where funeral services will be officiated by Pastor Richard Skiver on Thursday at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow with military honors at Grandview Memorial Park.
