Elaine Louise Ficke

Elaine Louise (née Matre) Ficke, age 89, passed away January 31, 2017 of natural causes. She was born in Reading Ohio in July, 1927 to the late Estel and Mathilda Matre. Elaine graduated from Reading High School in 1945. She was married to Calvin Clarence Ficke in 1950 and they raised four sons in Reading before relocating to West Chester in 1999. Elaine was employed by the Ricking Paper Company before retiring several years ago. Elaine had 4 sons, 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren: including Bruce (deceased) and Victoria Ficke (Alex, Kelli, Thayer); Greg and Carol Ficke (Lisa, Lindsay, Kailey, Adley); Gary and Margarita Ficke (Layla Bundrick, Sean Ficke, Valentina DiMeola); Jeff and Michelle Ficke (Krista, Jamie, Grace, Emma, Sam, Patrick). Elaine had 2 siblings: Minerva (née Schell) Cunningham (deceased) and Jack Matre (deceased). Visitation Monday, February 6, 2017 from 11:00 – 12:45 P.M. at Schmidt-Dhonau-Kucner Funeral Home, 8633 Reading Rd., Reading, OH 45215. Funeral Service to follow at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
